Fair Trade &
Organic Production In India

Your Mama Nuka has travelled a long way into your hands:
from Gujarat in India across the ocean to Hamburg,
Berlin and to your home.

Your Mama Nuka was woven by hand on metre-long looms. Mama Nukas are dyed with herbal extracts, sewn by hand and are hence a completely natural product made with a lot of love. Our weaving unit in India works ecologically and socially sustainable according to our high expectations, which are even higher than international standards.

We decided for India as a production site out of personal interest for its long history in textile production. Only in India herbal dyes are still available and being used. Our producer uses old knowledge combined with his expertise he gathered in the textile industry. He developed a patent which lets herbally-dyed fabrics be washed up to 60 degrees Celsius without bleeding in our western washing machines.

We support social projects in India with 1% of our profit. We pay fair salaries and recycle 100% of the water that is used in the dyeing process. Since it doesn’t contain any chemicals we can use it to water the plants that grow the dyes for our beautiful Mama Nukas.

Here you can see a short video about our production.
